Demonstration in Utah
Hello Stephen Toyoda Sensei,
Greetings from Utah, and thank you the exciting email message abut Aikido
World onling blog. I have passed on this information to the Jyushinkan
Aikidoka.
I wanted to let you know that we were invited to present a public
demonstration of Aikido at the USU Japanese Club fall festival, called Aki
Matsuri last Saturday (11/10/07) at 7:00 pm on the USU campus. We had 13
Aikidokoda participate that included five new members from the Aikido USU
P.E. Class (Tuesday evenings) and eight of our more “seasoned” members. We
focused on weapons (jo and bokken kata, kumitachi and kumijo, jo nage, and
jo dori). I have included in the attachment several of the photographs from
the event
Japanese food was served and there was a demonstration of Tai Chi (Chinese,
so I don’t know why). Several spectators (about 40 total) expressed interest
in coming by the dojo.
We had a great time doing the demonstration, and it especially inspired our
new students and gave them added confidence and enthusiasm.
